Gift bags and colored table cloths made an easy and budget-friendly addition to the balloon backdrop.

Welcome to the third edition of “Pickleball Possibilities.” This will be a semi-regular (monthly? maybe? no promises) where we write about a hypothetical or real-life Pickleball Party! The goal is to showcase a range of - well - possibilities to hopefully inspire you to plan your next event! The world is better with connection so why not be the one to create more of it! Our goal is to get to 100 of these!

For this third Pickleball Possibility, we’re pulling our inspiration for another REAL LIFE example of an event we threw this month! It was such an easy event to host. Here’s how we did it:

  • Party Purpose: 40th Birthday Party

  • Party Type: Small, casual gathering

  • Party Name: Sporty & Forty

  • Party Tag Line or Event Description: I wanted to do a local pickleball party on my actual and to keep it budget friendly and low-key since I had already splurged for Camp Dink & Dive 2025!

  • Location: Dinkers Pickleball Club (indoor facility) - Denton, Texas

  • Duration: 2 hours (Sunday from 10am - 12pm)

  • Number of Attendees: 7

  • Make-Up of Guests: Pickleball friends

  • Theme: Bold colors and sporty vibes

  • Food & Beverage: Host provided bubble, guests brought their favorite brunch dish to share

  • Budget: $

  • Party Flow:

    • Host and Balloon artist arrives 45 minutes early to set up the tablescape & balloon backdrop

    • Guests arrived at event start time and just set down their dishes

    • Two courts were reserved and one was for competitve play while the other was for social/casual play.

    • When a team won on the competitive court, the winning team would split up and play pair up with a player from the social court. This kept things flowing while mixing it up!

  • Other Details:

    • We made sure to take photos before we started playing while we were all looking fresh!

    • Gift bags served as part of the decor and were handed out as guests were leaving. The gift bags were just plain paper sacks with everyone’s name decorated with the theme. They included small pickleball themed items such as hair ties, bracelets, tumblers, and small towels.

It was a fun and relatively low effort event mostly thanks to the ease of working with a venue like Dinkers and an amazing balloon vendor who took care of both the set up and breakdown!

This type of event could also work great for a happy hour, retirement party, or mixer! Need some help getting started? Book a FREE 20-minute party planning chat with us by sending me a note here or emailing us at cecilia@pickleballpartyplanner.com!

Happy Pickling!!
