Pickleball Possibility #002
NETWORKING EVENT - “EATERTAINMENT” VENUE
Welcome to the second edition of “Pickleball Possibilities.” This will be a semi-regular (weekly? maybe? no promises) where we write about a hypothetical or real-life Pickleball Party! The goal is to showcase a range of - well - possibilities to hopefully inspire you to plan your next event! The world is better with connection so why not be the one to create more of it! Our goal is to get to 100 of these!
For this second Pickleball Possibility, we’re pulling our inspiration for another REAL LIFE example of an event we attended last week!
Party Purpose: Real Estate Investing Mixer
Party Type: Networking Event
Party Name: Invested In Texas: Pickleball & Real Estate Meetup
Party Tag Line or Event Description: “Network with Texas real estate pros—flippers, wholesalers, agents, trades & more. Share deals, grab lunch, and play pickleball!”
Location: Chicken & Pickle (an entertainment complex) - Grapevine, Texas
Duration: 3 hours (Friday from 11:30am - 2:30pm)
Number of Attendees: 40+
Make-Up of Guests: Individuals from different companies or flying solo all working or investing in real estate. Only a few people knew each other. Wide range of skills with mostly beginners.
Theme: No theme! Chicken & Pickle already has some great vibes!
Food & Beverage: Attendees could order their own food & drink from the restaurant bar on their own tabs
Other Details:
Attendees checked in by answering a short survey. This also served as their entry into a raffle for a $25 gift card at the end of the event. The host used this free click-to-spin wheel of names which was pretty neat!
The host pulled everyone together for a group photo. This was the perfect opportunity to allow the sponsor of the event provide a short chat and to announce the winner of the raffle!
Budget: $$
Party Flow:
Attendees RSVP’d in advance through MeetUp
Attendees trickled in a different times, checked in with the venue and then checked in with the host for the raffle
Two courts were reserved by the host (paid for by the sponsor) and guests decided among themselves who would play next
During the second half of the event, there was a group photo, quick remarks from the sponsor, and raffle winner announced
It was a FANTASTIC event and we will definitely be attending the next one — perhaps even as a sponsor!
This type of event could work great for any industry! If you’re starting over in a new market, looking to grow your existing network, or simply want to have an excuse to leave the office early, consider this format for your next networking event!
