The idea for Pickleball Party Planner came to me, in what felt like an almost fully formed concept, while making the 20 minute drive back from a very intense session of pickleball. It was a very hot morning and I had forgotten my water. My body was feeling a little off and I didn’t play my best. I was ridiculously sweaty and needed to eat ASAP. Despite all of this, I was in an INCREDIBLE mood and so thankful for the hour I got to spend with new friends, outside.
I also happened to be in the middle of planning my own 40th birthday party which - not surprisingly - revolved completely around pickleball! I had been having so much fun dreaming up the experience and putting it into action. At this point, we were just a few weeks out from the big weekend and the group chat had been popping off. (There are few things that make me happier than a hilarious and engaged group chat.)
The final piece fell into place as I realized that my day job as a real estate agent could actually benefit from playing MORE pickleball. At the time, I was just a few weeks away from starting at a new brokerage in a new market. For me, this translated into having to start my book of business over which was a little scary. While I love being an agent, by far my least favorite part is lead generation. Even though I’m a textbook extrovert, I get heart palpitations even thinking of cold calling or bugging my own sphere of influence to use my services or refer me to others. BUT I knew I needed to start putting myself out there if I was going to make enough money to continue funding my pickleball hobby (kidding! kind of).
Meeting new people as an adult is hard. Meeting people new people that you actually vibe with and WANT to hang out with is even harder! Which leads me back to that special morning. The group of women I had just finished playing with were never supposed to be my friends and we would have never crossed paths if it wasn’t for this incredible sport.
In this moment of exhaustion and gratitude, I knew I had to figure out a way to share this euphoric feeling that can only come from a combo of connection, competition, and calorie burning. If I could do that through pickleball and also sell a house or two in the process, that would be absolute no-brainer to me.
So here we are! Just a girl and her paddle hoping to spread joy and connection through being your go-to Pickleball Party Planning resource!
